Food Waste or Uncluttering?

Don’t get me wrong – this is all food waste, and we should be ashamed. But I’m proud of getting it out of our fridge. The half lemon and cream cheese are regular food wastes (bits and bobs category), and the egg nog should’ve been tossed with last week’s overdue holiday leftovers. The salsa was gross from the beginning, and probably should’ve been returned to the store for being inedible, but that never happened.

The rest are all expired jars of this and that which were cluttering up the fridge door. The tapenade was not very good; the caper berries were weird; I don’t know what possessed me to buy that caviar; those Ikea lingonberry preserves were a science experiment; there was something funny about those capers; and that chickpea masala is over 2 years old, and I’ve already made its replacement. The two little takeout containers are a spicy condiment that comes with Pollo Rico (watch for sound). I usually use it, but sometimes you get sick of seeing little reminders of takeout in the fridge.

On the bright side, I’m happy there are no leftovers being wasted this week. Barring any romaine lettuce disaster, I don’t anticipate any waste for next week.

is that an empty jar up top? if so, thats cheating!

  2. it’s a jar of capers! don’t ask me what was wrong with them… they were just weird.

i’m typing from U. Steve’s keyboard, and it’s hard! AZERTY is very different from QWERTY!
