As Inge noted in the comments, we bought a juicer last week! It was pretty inexpensive and we really like it so far. We’ve stuck to fruit and carrot juices and everything’s been really good. This afternoon we had orange, grapefruit, and pineapple.
The pulp piles up quickly, though. I plan on making crackers, but have heard that fruit pulp isn’t as good as veggie pulp. I ran out of time for experimenting this weekend, so it’ll have to be a project for next weekend.
We ate the acorn squash last night, and I was getting ready to prep a big salad for dinner when Sunil came home with monkfish and some nice haricot verts. That makes a much more festive Valentine’s Day dinner. He also picked up this dessert (which photographs better than monkfish… that is one ugly fish).
I didn’t end up making anything other than nachos for dinner on Sunday. After topping them with a whole avocado and a ton of tomatoes, cheese, and sour cream, I guess I wasn’t that hungry anymore…
