This New Years Eve was our second annual Star Wars Movie Marathon. This year we actually got through all 6 movies and managed to scramble some tasty treats in between.
Episode 1: Egg sandwich on everything bagel
Episode 2: Alsatian pizza (tarte flambe)
Episode 3: oysters and smoked salmon with crusty bread
Episode 4: crispy kale chips with lemon yogurt dip
Episode 5: filet mignon (we split a small piece), steamed asparagus, small salad
Episode 6: French chocolate cookies from Christmas
Next year we want to do specific food and wine pairings for each movie. Suggestions?
On New Years Day we put away ornaments, and Rufus was very helpful keeping the ornament box warm.
Here’s the menu for the week:
Sunday Jan 1: black-eyed peas, collard greens, cornbread
Monday Jan 2: tuna steak, asparagus, salad
Tuesday Jan 3: prosciutto, fig, black olive pizza and salad
Wednesday Jan 4: potato latkes, collard greens
Thursday Jan 5: Clean out the fridge night
On Friday we’re off on a trip, and hopefully I’ll be able to post a few food photos from the road!
